Bio

I am a Lecturer in Computer Science at Stellenbosch University in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Prior to this, I was a Ph.D. student at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), South Africa, which I joined in 2017. I was also a part-time lecturer at Damelin College in Menlyn Pretoria, South Africa. Prior to that, I was working as a software developer at Gemini Moon Trading in East London, South Africa.

Qualifications

I have completed my degrees at the University of Fort Hare and Kwa Zulu-Natal:

  • BSc in Computer Science and Chemistry (2011)
  • BScHons in Computer Science (2012)
  • MSc in Computer Science (2014)
    • with a focus on BioInformatics and High-Performance Computing
    • thesis title Development of High-Performance Computing Cluster for evaluation of Sequence Alignment Algorithms
  • PhD in Computer Science (2020)
    • with a focus on Deep Learning
    • thesis title Correcting inter-sectional accuracy differences in drowsiness detection systems using generative adversarial networks (GANs)
